Life in Hong Kong so Far

Long time no write.  I'm currently living and working in Hong Kong now for the past 9 months.  Work is pretty boring, pay is much higher than what I've been receiving before in the Philippines, but it's just average here in Hong Kong.

What I particularly love here in Hong Kong is the weather, there's winter here in Hong Kong, cold but no snow.  The polution is high but lower than that of Philippines.  I don't get to drive here in HK, but I consider it as a good thing because it's less stress for me.  My workplace is just 2 minutes away from my residence, wake up at 8:30, and can reach the office just in time.  I also get a lot of other things done here in HK, like going to gym a lot more during weekdays, because everywhere here is just a walking distance.  Me and my wife can go hiking to a nearby mountain trail every weekend, because the hiking place is just 20 minutes away by train and bus.  Everything here is very convenient for us.  A very good thing actually.

Of course, there's also some things that we don't enjoy in Hong Kong.  Like work is not that favorable, people here are not that sociable.  We still don't speak the language that well, so going out with friends is still not that enjoyable, since they speak in their language and we just wait for someone to translate for us to understand.  (.. just noticed I used a lot of ".able" in my last few sentences...hehe).

Series of Unfortunate Events?... Nah!

Last Monday, I was caught by a motorcycled policeman violating a one-way street, he took my license and charged me a #157 on my ticket, which stands for counterflow driving, and is equivalent to 2,000 bucks penalty. Tuesday, I went to Makati City Hall, all the way from our house in QC, just to retrieve my license and pay the penalty, upon arriving the place, I waited for about 20 minutes just to find out that my license was not there yet... talk about a bad week... but I guess I don't think of it as a series of bad luck, I think it's just a series of trials given to me by God to test my patience, in fact, I consider myself lucky, I am alive for one, my loved ones are okay, I didn't lose anything from the experience - I even learned my lesson not to take the Makati policemen for granted, and most of all, I had plenty of rest from work related stress and last but not the least, I finally had time to update my blog.

Aimee Chong

How do you know that you have fallen in love with a person, well there are a lot of signs, one thing is that you cannot simply relax without knowing that that person is safe and happy, you go out your way just to make that person happy. And when you're with that person, everything about her is cute and lovable, even when she's angry - she's cute, and you can't resist hugging her for that. And if you're in love with a person, no matter how much that person made you angry, you can always forgive her once she says sorry, call it stupid or blind, but that's the power of love. That's how much I love my Aimee, I love her that much.

Hello Blogtag!

Whew! I manage to insert a few images to customize my blogsite, it took me practically the whole day...it was hard for me 'coz I'm not too familiar with the blogtags and I can't use the "Hello" tool to upload my images to my blog (I think it's being blocked by our internet proxy). Let me describe the images I inserted, first I inserted a rotating globe, since my site is titled "it's a small world", I figured a rotating globe would fit my design. For my second customization, I inserted an image of the Strike Gundam, which is one of the main robot characters in the cartoon series Gundam Seed, I'm an avid fan of the gundam anime and is "currently" obsessed in collecting and assembling the plastic figures...

Early Tuesdays

I hate my Tuesdays, I have to wake up early to go to work because of "color coding" traffic scheme, plate numbers ending in 3 or 4 should avoid the streets on Tuesdays from 7am to 7pm. Actually, I also hate my Monday nights, because of the pressure to go to sleep early, but this usually doesn't happen.
It's really hard to do what is right

Traffic makes our day sour... only if you don't control your emotions

Yup, that's what happened to me this morning. I was cruising along Buendia on the middle lane of a 3-lane highway when a bus swerved from the inner lane to the lane where I'm at, as I have no time and space to hit the breaks to stop, I swerved to my right to avoid the bus. At that same time, a motorcycle was at my tail on the right side of the lane, he was travelling at high speed and was forced to hit his breaks or else he would slam to the back of my car. The motorcycle driver then drove to my side and asked me to lower my window, he was complaining regarding my sudden swerving and instructed me to look at my side window... I told him that I swerved because of the bus, and told him that I was sorry. Upon hearing my apology, he drove off. If I hadn't controlled my temper, things could have been worse.

My First Entry

Hello, this is my first entry to the blog world, I'm not used to sharing my thoughts in the blog world yet, but I guess I'll get the hang of it in no time.
Never underestimate yourself, for the world will insist on taking you at face value
